[Decor] California style with Asian style
The living room of designer Michael DePerno’s renovated midcentury-modern home in Santa Rosa, California, includes vintage pieces such as a Dunbar sofa, a pair of linen-upholstered Danish armchairs, and a Paul McCobb cocktail table; the antique cabinet is Chinese, and the rug is by Tufenkian Artisan Carpets.
The house’s cedar exterior is original.

The breakfast area, which is paved in concrete tiles from Ann Sacks, has an antique Korean tansu chest and a vintage Hans Wegner chair; the antique spear is African.
DePerno designed the living room’s large, white sofa, which is upholstered in a linen by Clarence House; the floors are fumed oak.
A Faber vent hood hangs above concrete countertops in the kitchen; the cabinetry is made of oiled teak, the stools are vintage, and the teak table and glass-paneled Børge Mogensen cabinet are from the ’50s.
In the dining room, the Danish rosewood table, cane-back chairs, and enameled pendant light are vintage; the Art Deco teak cabinet is from Indonesia.
On the deck, wicker chairs surround an antique Chinese table, and the brass lantern is also Chinese.
In the den, a drawing by Edward Stanton hangs above a ’50s sofa upholstered in a Hinson & Co. fabric; the cocktail table is by Paul McCobb, and the curtain is of an Irish linen.
The tile in the master bath is by Heath Ceramics, and the antique stool is English; the enameled-steel tub is fitted with a custom-made teak surround and has oxidized Waterworks fittings.
The countertop is CaesarStone, the sink fittings are by Waterworks, and the bronze-and-glass sconce is custom made.
In the master bedroom, a Samuel Marx lamp sits on a vintage leather-and-oak desk; the chair and throw are English, and the rug is a vintage wool jajim.
